Nirjhorinir Mukti

"NIRJHORINIR MUKTI" is a completely new and unique production of NAYONTARA, based on Rabindranath Tagore's famous poem Nirjhorer Swapno Bhongo and and the poem Sabala from Sanchayita. The idea is to explore the theme of women's empowerment in an otherwise male oriented world.

This production comprises of unique songs from Rabindranath, Nazrul, Atulprasad and D.L. Roy that has been woven into a vibrant matrix of rhythm, melody and words from Tagore's inimitable poetry.

This unique composition was first performed by Nayontara at Milan Mela, a ladies club founded over 60 years ago at P 74 Lake Road, on the evening of Jagadhrati Puja on 27th October 2009.



Adrijar Agomoni

Adrijar Agomoni : Performed by Nayontara at Weaver's Studio, Ballygunge Place, Calcutta on the occassion of Mahalaya on 18 Sep 2009

An original composition based on raga Hamsadhwani that was performed as a part of Adrijar Agomoni -- an invocation of the Goddess -- by Nayontara at Weavers Studio, 94 Ballygunge Place, Calcutta on the occassion of Mahalaya. Vocals : Sanghamitra Nath, Moumita Sen and Indira Mukerjee, accompanied by Satyajit on keyboards, Babu on the octopad and Shubham on tabla.
